Commenting on my work: If possible, please don't leave empty, one-line comments on my work like "I like it" or "it looks cool". If you like my work, tell me
why you like it. If you can't think of something substantial to say, then I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in reading it. My work is a labour of love, and usually takes me many hours to make. All I ask in return is that if you comment, you spend more than 2 seconds coming up with your response.
I'd much prefer to receive a comment from someone who hated my work and gave me some insightful reasons as to why they thought it was poor, than 10 unsubstantiated and meaningless comments like "This is great".

Eat like you give a damn
In modern factory farms, sows are forced to live in cages so small that they can't turn around....for their entire pregnancies.

Dairy cows routinely have their babies taken away from them and killed at birth, so that the milk that was meant to nourish their babies can instead go into our coffees. Then the cows are reimpregnated and the process is repeated, until the cows are considered "spent" and are sent off to be slaughtered.

Battery egg-laying chickens are kept in cages so small that they can't spread their wings during their whole lives.

Broiler (meat) chickens are frequently crammed together so tightly that each chicken has less than an A4-sized area to itself. The manure in these sheds builds up so much that humans who go in must wear gas-masks to protect them from the ammonia. The chickens, of course, don't get gas masks, and the ammonia burns their skin, gives them respiratory diseases, and can corrode their eyes to the point of blindness.

These are not rare cases, but are commonplace industry practices. Most of the meat, dairy and eggs that we eat in the Western world come from farms such as this.

Please think before you eat. Is enjoying a certain flavour and texture for a few minutes worth inflicting a lifetime of nightmarish misery and suffering on a creature?
